With hundreds of designer bags making it to the stores in 2009, 2010 can hardly be any different. As economies perk up around the world, buying for luxury items are going to increase as well and bags are likely to be in the top three items of any decent shopping list. But which bag is going to be crowned the Best Handbag 2010? Well, for the winner, we will have to live through the year and see what designers throw at up but here are a few guesses on the trends of 2010 which we can expect to hold true.

Designer handbags will definitely make an entry into more homes as we need Coach, LV and Prada as some of the leading brands gearing up for an active new year. However, new designers are also likely to have a good fan following as buyers are unlikely to be satisfied with just a couple of purchases. I would look out for Tignanello, Miu Miu and Valentino as some of the brands that would make the 2010 handbag history. For cheaper designer bags, one would need to be content with last years’ designs.

A close look at the sizes promoted by Coach handbags, one can see that medium and smaller bags are in and the size change has not gone unnoticed by Louis Vuitton handbag designers either. Prada handbags are still struggling to reduce the sizes of their bags and are likely to get there sometime later this year. So the two things that you would look out for in 2010 when it comes to designer bags is whether you are carrying the right size one and what their comfort quotient is! Color, design and the brand name are likely to come in second in the priority listing but hey….look at the bright side….here’s a new year with dozens of new bags to choose from!
